F.A.Q’s.

The number one question out there…
Why are you so expensive?

This question should really be “Why do you cost more than my Globo-gym membership?” and the answer is that we provide a different, and far more effective service to you.  The following is a comparison of the top 3 ways most people approach their fitness…

  • Memberships at the CrossFit café cost between 85 – $145 per month.
  • Membership at a globo-gym cost between $10 – $50 per month.
  • Personal training costs between $60 – $90 per hour**
    • ** Most people workout an average of 3 times per week or 12 times per month which would cost you at least $720 per month for personal training!

LETS LOOK AT THE SERVICES WE PROVIDE TO YOU…
1: USE OF THE GYM: You get the use of the facility; bathrooms…
2: USE OF THE EQUIPMENT: Use of all the equipment.
3: COACHING: A certified coach to make sure you know how to safely perform each movement and workout including how to scale it to your personal skill level; properly warm you up prior to the workouts; properly cool you down and stretch you out after the workout.
4: PROGRAMMING: Writing workouts to ensure you continually progress.  Getting stronger; leaner; faster; flexible… Making sure you work in all of the 3 energy systems the body uses (short/medium/long), and making sure you have an even mix of upper body and lower body; pulling and pushing.
5:  COMMUNITY: A group of fitness-minded people you will become friends with who will help you live a healthy lifestyle of health; fitness; and nutritional eating!
6:  PHONE APP: An internet-based fitness tracking app to see workouts; record and track your progress; see and comment on friends’ scores.

8: NUTRITION: Constant advice (and a dedicated class) on very successful eating habits and lifestyles that work and that you can do for the rest of your lives.  NOT diets, but lifestyles followed by coaches and other athletes alike!

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a precise combination of exercise and nutrition that has been proven to increase fitness and health for people of all ages and abilities.  It is based on being functional; in other words… help you live your every day life!  NOT being a body builder; NOT being a powerlifter; NOT being a tri-athlete.  However, CrossFit will make you lighter, stronger, faster, mobile, flexible, and it will result in a stronger heart, lower cholesterol, lower body weight and lower body fat!

Is CrossFit for me?

Yes. It’s not for EVERYEONE but ENYONE can do CrossFit regardless of age, injuries and current fitness level. The program can be modified for each athlete to help him or her become fitter and healthier. Grandparents and Olympians—and everyone in between—can perform modified versions of the same workout.

Do I need to be in shape to start CrossFit?

No. CrossFit is the fitness and nutrition program that will get you in shape. No matter what your current fitness level is, you can start CrossFit. You can start CrossFit if you’ve never worked out, if you have injuries, or if you’re sick or overweight. CrossFit workouts are modified to help each person succeed, improve fitness and take daily steps toward goals. As you become fitter, your workouts will be adjusted to challenge you at your new level.

Is CrossFit safe?

Yes. CrossFit training is very safe, and sitting on your couch is dangerous. In CrossFit boxes, credentialed trainers provide precise instructions and coaching to help people move safely and efficiently, helping them avoid all the diseases and injuries that come from inactivity, obesity, and poor nutrition.

What about nutrition?

To accomplish your goals faster, we have a weekly nutrition class. In general, we recommend you eat a variety of healthy foods in quantities that support fitness training but not body fat. By avoiding excessive amounts of refined carbohydrates (sugars) and measuring your protein, carbohydrate, and fat intake, you will see measurable increases in health. Here’s a simple starting point: Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar.
